Man turns violent at Whataburger
Bobby Battaglia, who had just been released from the county jail after about three months, was charged with criminal mischief, with $2,500 to $30,000 in property damage, and for public intoxication, Police Chief Uvaldo Zamora said.
Battaglia allegedly threw a chair at a cash register, knocking it off a counter, and dumped out a large metal container of iced tea.
Restaurant patrons restrained Battaglia until police arrived.
Willacy County Sheriff Larry Spence said a member of his church was present when the incident occurred. Battaglia has frequently been in trouble with the law, the sheriff said.
